Welcome forumites to Haru-Sari's very own DJ WEDNESDAY!

What is DJ Wednesday you ask? Well, since our beloved Keiiii has had to reduce updates to twice a week, we thought it might be fun to have a little extra on Wednesdays to tide you over from Monday's post till Friday's! Hence, with Keiiii's permission I will be posting one track (with any accompanying notes or jacket art) from the (semi/sorta) Official Haru-Sari Soundtrack. Wink

Many of the songs contain, hidden within their lyrics, spoilers for characters or upcoming developments! So if you've ever wanted "insider" information on Haru-Sari, here's your chance! All songs are "canon," that is they contain or hint at canon facts about the characters, so feel free to incorporate them in your conspiracy theories or speculations about characters, couplings, etc.

Doh! Sorry guys! I fell asleep while reading something last night, and didn't get the post up! The playlist has been updated now though, and I will try to post the liner art when I get home.

This week we have a slightly more revealing song (though Zug drew some very thoughtful conclusions for Phoenix's much more ambiguous song. Kudos to you Zug!). Given Monday's page, I thought it was time to shine a little light on our morally torn muscle-man, Leon!

Leon is very reticent, and was thus difficult to pick out a song for (second, in fact, only to Cortinon, the most close-lipped of all), but after listening to Fuel's "Innocent," I knew I'd found him.

Lyrics:

Satan, you know where I lie
Gently I go into that good night
All our lives get complicated
Search for pleasures overrated
Never armed our souls
What the future would hold
When we were innocent
Angels, lend me your might
Forfeit all my lives to get just one right
All those colors long since faded
All our smiles are confiscated
Never were we told
What the future would hold
When we were innocent

This prayer is for me tonight
This far down that line and still ain't got it right

And while confessions not yet stated
Our next sin is contemplatd
Never did we know
What the future would hold
Or that we'd be bought and sold
When we were innocent

For kicks and giggles (and to counter the ANGST), I'm throwing in a freebie. Weird Al's "I Think I'm a Clone Now" also suits Leon quite well. Though I suppose the same could be said of Noel et al.

In our inaugural week of DJ Wednesday, or special guest is the lovely lady of vermilion herself, winner of the Miss Enigma pageant and guest of honor at Mysterious Siblings United 3 times running: PHOENIX!!!

Full lyrics for those who can't get the playlist to work due to technical issues, etc.:

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
In the land that I heard of
Once, once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare you dream
Really do come true

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds
Are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops that's where you'll find me

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds
Are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops that's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

If happy little bluebirds fly
Above the rainbow
Why, oh why, can't I

I have stickied this thread to show my official endorsement. Bouncy Happy

LadyFox is in charge of the song selections here. This is a GOOD thing since she knows my characters pretty darn well, and with her vast musical knowledge, may actually be better suited to choose these songs than *I* am! Comment away, and have fun speculating or just simply enjoying the song(s).

A beautiful song with a bittersweet ending. That's my prediction for Phoenix.

Her life will play out, she'll do some wondrous things (not necessarily GOOD things. We don't know what her/Alberich's plans are exactly or their motives.) have one final flourish of triumph and glory, before snuffing out in sweet melancholy.

By the way, Keiii. I find Phoenix absolutely stunning. She is, in my opinion, the most beautiful woman you've ever drawn (despite the extra pair of eyes).

Smile Thanks! I wanted Phoenix to be beautiful, befitting of the title Alberich has given her: a goddess. It's a shame that not everyone (in the comic) can see her inner form.

Both the way she sees herself, an the way others see her in telepathic communications. Kinda like how Chi-Min appears physically like an adult in his mental conversation with Mana. Presumably this is true of all elves. Though physically pre-pubescent, their "mental" image of themselves more accurately reflects their age and maturity.

Oh, so you mean how that pic of chi-min defying mana in their first meeting. That makes sense.

"I Think I'm a Clone Now" was actually for Noel, but hey, it fits Leon too! LOL

"Possession" is for Alberich. It's not a perfect match, but it does have several themes/elements that fit him. I'm still looking for a better theme song for him, but have not found any so far!
