Is the "vault" filled with these leftover "vessels"?
I have such a morbid imagination. D: |
Yet we love you anyway.
My questions are basically what she said.

^Oh, rats, now we're going to be all "ZOMG GUESSING TIEMZ" now.
Not that that's a bad thing! XD I'll have my shot now.
Uh, lessee... Let's assume transferring magic to someone is the "binding" effect Alby and Leon were talking about when stuff started hitting the fan back in chapter 18. Phoenix can apparently sense when someone is "bound," which means that the same may hold true for other "bound" elves regarding Phoenix's little transfers. This is why this would be "a bit of a problem" if Phoenix were transferring her magic all the time-- can't have random elves sensing what's happening in that little ghost town, can we? Besides the obvious problems regarding the presence of a supposedly dead elf you want to protect in your house, Alby keeps Phoenix's elf-ness undetectable outside the house for this reason.
Phoenix can look into Mana's memories and see if the elf was bound, even if Mana couldn't sense it herself-- Phoenix knows what it looks like, after all. She apparently told Alby that no, he isn't, but we now know that Phoenix could have been lying about everything... Maybe that elf IS bound, for all we know. I mean, look at that last panel! The question is, why would she lie when the truth could get her apprehended...?
YOU GUYS I'M SO CONFUSED
Hey, wonder if the dead elf in this chapter is this guy. It wasn't specified, but it makes sense. If he's bound to an unconscious elf, that elf can't take their power back... _________________

Let's look at what we KNOW.
1) Phoenix isn't all sugar and innocence. She LIES and goes behind Alby's back.
2) She's also manipulative.
3) Someone refered to as a "parasite" recently died. http://haru-sari.com/by8w45/story/26/02.php
4) Vault is said 'vault', meaning it very well could mean a living being. _________________ I am only one person, but I am going to move mountains. |

Well, the parasite has a host... and blindly guessing, I'm thinking the host is the elf that recently exhibited effects of the Cygnet effect.
Also the vault: Doesn't this look like a vault? You know, like a place they make "vessels" like Noel or whatever. :0 |

Thank you, Keiiii, for the censor bubble...0_0
Looks like Phoenix may have withheld information when showing Alberich the memories of Mana, considering that it seems that the elf was experiencing the Cygnet effect. Now it's just the question of who's the host...
And once they figure that out...Alby will have some trouble. At least that's my prediction...
So...
I'm confused @_@.
I'm so confused.... _________________ ...BOO! |

| Am I happy to see an active discussion! It's times like this that I feel really bad about not being able to update faster. Must... get better at... time management! |

Wow. Poor elf.
Driven to suicide by Extreme Pain. If Phoenix was using him as a 'vault', then I'm very much upset with her. Assuming, that is, that vaults are living persons.
Using others to extend your own life. PHOENIX IS A VAMPIRE! _________________ I am only one person, but I am going to move mountains. |

o.o
I thought iomigesia was just the universal fever/lethargy/headache symptoms with spots in your eyes added to the list, but it sounds like it's a biiiiit more serious than that...
I doubt Phoenix was using him, as this was an experiment conducted by Cortinon and the other researchers. Remember how they said they had a Host?
Still, if that's what Phoenix is doing, I think I AM going to be mad...
Aha. Remember how we were all debating on whether Phoenix was a Mary-Sue before? The answer seems pretty obvious now...
@ Kuhn: I think the Host is the one GIVING the magic-- the parasite sounds like the one "sapping" the magic from the host. I thought the parasite-- as in, this poor dead guy on this page-- was the guy from chapter 18, but his hair isn't light enough... But wow, that DOES look like a vault o.o
...I kinda want to know how iomigesia works now. Sounds like good 'fic material... >__>; _________________

That does make sense. But being the sciency-research people that they are, if the host was giving magic to the parasite... "parasite" just doesn't seem like the right term.
So there's a Host, and let's say it is the elf exhibiting the Cygnet effect. They grab another elf to be a Parasite to forcefully receive the Cygnet effect in order to learn more about how it works.
I mean, if an elf exhibiting the effect (for however long it was) is a rare occurrence, they wouldn't want to mess him up by tainting him with invasive research methods... yet wouldn't a scientist still want to get a closer look? So if they could develop a method in "duplicating" elves with similar conditions to the Cygnet effect to study, they could make leaps and bounds in research.
Haha, I'm new to webcomic theorizing/predicting forgive me if I'm waaay off. xD |

Ahem...
Note to self...
Never, ever read references you fangirl over, even minutely fangirl over, right, after, dinner....
Seriously, I felt like I had just gone through a single person drinking game that lasted a whole day...giggling like a mad girl...Choking and spluttering (Thank you Alb for the service, this is going to my fan art art reference hard drive!)... *shakes head*
Kitty should watch her glucose intake...*nods nods*
Keiiii, make a new topic JUST for us to stalk/discuss the contest please! XD
Note: The references themselves shouldn't be hilarious, but I guess my state of mind is making EVERYTHING hilarious at the moment...
I swear, it was only food! _________________ ...BOO! |

Are you giggling at Alberich's leopard speedo!?
A contest discussion thread is a great idea, though. I'm on it! |

I choked on my own saliva and ended up having a coughing fit when I saw that, thank you very much! -皿-
(Though my inner self ended up with a nasal hemorrhage instead...)
I was giggling at every thing else...
I did say I was having a sugar high, right? ==U

Alea: Adult!Chi-Min! *swoon* Thanks so much for linking to that reference. *cough* You do realize, of course, that now I'm going to hound you to draw sexy adult!Chi-Min for me, don't you?
Wind: oh? And what answer is that? (In reference to whether or not Phoenix is a Mary-Sue.) Mary-Sues can, of course, be evil and manipulative. It's all in how they make everyone think they're perfect.
Kuhn: We all have to start somewhere. Welcome to The Theorizing. It's a lovely world where we all compare notes and then Keiiii does her best to prove us wrong. (Though I totally called Chi-Min being in love with June. heehee) _________________ I am only one person, but I am going to move mountains. |
