I just thought, since I'm so into this new anime and webcomic-turned-manga, I'd start a discussion forum ^^
For those who don't know, Hetalia Axis Powers, (Or APH, Axis Powers Hetalia), is about personified countries playing out history during WWI and WWII, but it's just so much more than that. It focuses on Italy, and how useless it was during the wars and in history (thus the name Hetalia, which is a cross between italy and hetare, which is useless in Japanese.)
You can find the official webcomic HERE
There are scanlations here and here
and there's a community at livejournal (for all you lj users!) here!
Info
I'm sorry if it seems like I'm advertising ><. I really like this series a lot, and I'd actually like to discuss it, (it's my new obsession ). _________________

Hetalia!
It's probabably one of the most heartwarming, nonsensical anime/manga I've ever seen
I love how non serious it takes itself, while still having some sad moments(Cleaning Out The Storage *sniffle*)
Though I know some people who dislike it because they think it tries to make horrible things like WW2 look 'kawaii'. What do you think? :3 |

I suppose the brevity of my reading of the thing might count against me here, but I did enjoy the comic, although I stopped reading after I realized that France was a perv.
I also briefly considered Germany/Italy as a ship of interest.
So yeah. Little Italy's so cute.... _________________ Beyonde There Bee Dragones

OTL Late post is late!
Anyways, Yangchen, I can see where those people are coming from, but the nature of Hetalia isn't to undermine the horribleness of any of the wars depicted, but to show the (albeit hilarious) cultural interactions that went on during that time. Cleaning Out The Storage was such a sad strip . Haha, it did however launch the US/Liet ship.
Eden: GerIta is my favorite ship too _________________
