I was just wondering, how would you guys FEEL about an RP? Like, played on here using Haru-sari, or just in general? Has anybody ever played RP's before? If so, I would like to know ALL about it 
Actually I was wondering cause I wanted to join an RP, but I wanted to know what other people thought of it.

I'd be interested in doing a role-play (I assume that's what RP stands for) but I am currently fuzzy on what an RP actually involves.

Um, I should have phrased my question: "How would a role-playing game be played on Haru-sari?".

I once read what used to be a really interesting RP, so maybe I can be of some assistance.
Usually, each participant will take on the role of one character. Come up with a situation, some vague resemblance to a plot, and try to write the character's reactions to the events in an in-character way.
Alberich: I've been waiting for you, Doctor.
Chi Min: Alberich, how do you know where I live?
In a chatroom, I think you write one line whenever it's your turn, but on a forum you'd write a apragraph or two detailing your character's thoughts.
I've never RP'd before, so I'm not sure how helpful I can be. |

@DM: Well for haru-sari, you could use the world, and the whole system of elves and (feline-people?) and humans. We could also make up story plots to explain things that were never REALLY explained. And we could also go in depth to them. Like, the guy that got beat up by the goons who were ordered by June's father. Anything really, just in the haru-sari world.
@NW: Yea, rp's can be interesting. I once played in an RP, it was fun, while it lasted. Oh yea, on more thing to what you said, usually an RP in a forum is more literary. Like, This [Alberich: I've been waiting for you, Doctor.
Chi Min: Alberich, how do you know where I live? ]
would become this :
["I've been waiting for you" Alberich said, sighing.
"How do you know where I live?" said Chi Min" ] Or something like that

Yes, in an RP for a forum, you would want to be a little more descriptive, writing it like a mini-novel or what have you.
But with Haru-Sari, it would have to be with the creator's blessing, and with her rules. I would think it would have to do with side stories that don't directly influence the plot that's already in place. ^^;

My home forum, FEP does Skylessia, which is a pretty high-quality forum RP influenced by Fire Emblem. I spend a fair chunk of my day typing posts for that.
I used to hang out on TheKeep, which was chat format, and a bunch of other forum RPs, but these days it's just Skylessia and some D&D-type stuff on a private forum. |
