An Interview with

Francis Alberich

Sarah_Riddle: "What we'd all like to know IS: Do you wear boxers or briefs?"

*chuckles* Neither and both at the same time. In other words, boxer briefs. Might I ask why everyone is so interested in my choice of underpants?

mental: "Do you have any special pet peeves?"

Tailgaters. Drivers cutting in front of me when I'm clearly not letting them. Oh, and people who reek of fried fast food. Also, this isn't exactly a pet peeve, but I cannot stand anything that wraps around my wrists, including wrist watches. Pocket watches are much more comfortable, I find, not to mention classy.

mental: "Where do you go to relax on your time off?"

Nothing beats home if you just want to relax. It's a great place to cook, practice pool, or to, you know, simply sit back and listen to some music. Oh, and speaking of pool, we don't have a pool table around here, do we? I would've liked to treat you all with a demonstration of some trick shots... ah well. Maybe we will get the opportunity another time.

mental: "Are you close to your family?"

Family... Who knows? Maybe I would be if I had one. The only person that qualifies would be my late foster father. He and I were not very close, admittedly. Not that we didn't get along. Neither of us spent much time at home, so we barely saw each other.

Dragon master: "Mr.Alberich if it is not a rude question Just out of curiosity what is your opinion of the AlberichXLeon shippers?"

.....

Pffthahahahaha! Excuse me, I just... ha ha ha!

Ahem! Okay. When I found out about it, my first reaction was, 'I must be even more charming than I thought.' I mean, if you are reasonably attractive, chances are someone, somewhere, has had dirty thoughts involving you; but having an entire group of people obsessing over such fantasies is-- is quite a phenomenon, considering that I am but a private citizen.

So yeah, I don't mind it much as long as it's in their mind and out of my life. Let them keep it to themselves while I "entertain" my lovely "lady friends" if you know what I mean.

You folks are a riot, by the way. And I thought the underpants question was going to take the cake...

madii00: "Do you love anyone? Other than yourself, that is."

....Would it surprise you if I said yes?

madii00: "Would you ever consider having your two other eyes removed?"

Well, let me answer your question with a question of my own again... Would you remove one of your eyes simply because you have two? Or a couple of your fingers, since you have ten? And if you had X-ray vision, why in the world would you get rid of it?

...Wait, you're not taking the X-ray thing seriously, are you? I was joking. *chuckles*

Vergessen Held: "Can we have some details regarding what you do as director of the ECA? Is it difficult?"

I'm glad you asked. Some people seem to think that I go around, killing a bunch of psychotic, angry, magic-wielding mutants. But that's for the hunters, not me.

My work centers around three things: business networking, especially the ECA's relationships with external organizations, operations management, and human resource management. It's... uh. *chuckles* I could write several books on the subject. In a nutshell, it means that I minimize the risks for everyone involved, including our hunters and clients.

A lot of the difficulties are a part of the routine, but sometimes, we also run into completely novel problems that no one could have possibly foreseen. We recently lost one of our hunters when he acted without orders. That man had a tremendous amount of respect for rules. No one expected him to do what he did. Now, I am not at liberty to discuss the details here, but that particular turn of events created subtle but serious ramifications for the entire organization. It was more than the loss of one man.

Vergessen Held: "Is there a Mrs. Alberich?"

As in my mother or my wife? Either way, no, there is no Mrs. Alberich that I know of. My father had never married, and I am single as well. Which will not be changing in the foreseeable future.

Vergessen Held: "What's your favorite drink? I'm assuming some kind of wine."

Well, it depends on my mood as well as the occasion. Overall, though, I do favor dry white wine. The best I've had lately was a 1439 Eireece Charmon Valley. It was a blended wine, Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc, with a complex, magnificent taste and an unforgettable aroma.
